Born, raised, and currently living in California's San Gabriel Valley, I am a Teach For America alumnus with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Northwestern University and a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I completed my Teach For America commitment in Las Vegas, where I taught middle school English for two years and Pre-Algebra for one summer.
When I returned to California, I earned California teaching credentials in English and mathematics and began teaching English at a Los Angeles high school. After teaching there for two years, I transitioned into a college counselor role at the same high school and helped students apply to college, prepare for college admissions tests (PSAT/SAT/ACT/AP), complete the FAFSA, and earn scholarships.
I have been working as a private academic tutor since 2012 and tutor students of all ages (elementary through college) and for all subjects, from English to history to Calculus. I also work with students on organizational skills and study habits as well as college test preparation and college application advisement.
